The government has announced a significant reduction in the expenses for Hajj.

Aneeq Ahmed, the caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs, said this at a press conference on Thursday. He said that the new Hajj policy had been approved and each pilgrim would now pay Rs100,000 less for their trip.

He said that the new Hajj policy in Islamabad included some important features. He said that the government scheme for Hajj would cost Rs1,075,000 per pilgrim for the next Hajj, down from Rs1,175,000. He said that there would be no compromise on the quality of Hajj arrangements despite the lower expenses.

He also said that Pakistan had a quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj, which would be shared equally between the government and private schemes.
