Samsung Calaxy A15 could be one of the most affordable smartphones in 2024. It will offer options for LTE and 5G connectivity. The Galaxy A15 has not revealed much in recent leaks, but a benchmark entry for the 5G version has given some new insights and corrected some previous speculations.

The Geekbench entry shows the A15 5G with the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, confirming previous rumors. The chip has a similar configuration to the Helio G99, with the added advantage of 5G connectivity. The MALI-G57 GPU is another common feature in both sibling chipsets.

Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy A15 will use the same chipset for its LTE and 5G versions. This is different from the Galaxy A14, which used different silicons for its LTE and 5G versions, resulting in four separate processors for that series. According to the benchmark data, the Galaxy A15 5G will have 4GB of RAM in the starter variant. Since the Galaxy A14 5G has up to 8GB of RAM, we can expect similar options for the Galaxy A15 when it officially launches.

The benchmark also confirms that the Samsung's budget 5G model will run Android 14, a standard expectation for Samsung's 2024 smartphone lineup. If Samsung follows its traditional annual cycle, we can expect the launch of the Galaxy A15 in the first quarter of 2024. However, as with any plan, flexibility remains a consideration. With 2023 ending in two months, we should hear an official announcement from the company soon to clear up any remaining doubts.
