Netblocks, an internet monitoring service, has reported a widespread outage of social media platforms in Pakistan, including X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
The outage, which affected the whole country, happened just before a virtual gathering by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), according to Netblocks. The rally was supposed to start at 9pm.
Users in big cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad faced problems accessing social media platforms soon after 8 pm. Users also complained about slow internet services.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has not given an official explanation for the outage.
