OnePlus 12, the upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus, will feature a Sony LYT-808 sensor for its main camera, the company announced today. This is the first time OnePlus will use this sensor, which is one of the world’s best mobile image sensors, along with the Sony LYT-T808 sensor that was used in the OnePlus Fold.

The Sony LYT-808 sensor is a 50MP 1/1.4" sensor that offers excellent imaging capabilities and optical image stabilization. The company also said that it has applied the Hasselblad Algorithm to enhance the image quality. The company has shared some sample photos taken with the main camera, which show a f/1.6 aperture. One of the photos is compared with the iPhone 14 Pro, showing a clear difference in the details and colors.

The OnePlus 12 will also have a 1/2-inch 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens with an equivalent focal length of 70mm, which can support 3x optical zoom, f/2.6 aperture, and optical image stabilization. The company has also shared some sample photos taken with the periscope camera, which show a good zoom performance and clarity.

The OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is the latest and most powerful processor from Qualcomm. The phone is expected to have up to 24GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The phone is expected to launch soon and will be one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2023.
